I'm still in euphoria of Syngenta Connection 2013, I'd give introduction to some of the people that Syngenta brought at Probolinggo and some of the people who are helping with the project. The introduction based on my opinion, so it is subjective. Don't pay attention to grammar and spelling, because I've tried so hard to write this blog in English. (killing me softly)
It was a great pleasure working alongside with the participants, crews, and farmers. It is crazy to think that only 2 weeks ago, we were strangers and gathered for such a connection program for training, planning, teamwork, farmers meeting, field trip, and water pump project. But 2 weeks later, when we were all going our separate ways, it's hard to say goodbye.
PARTICIPANT of SYNGENTA ASIA PACIFIC
PARTICIPANT of SYNGENTA ASIA PACIFIC
Cindy Lim
Over the program, Cindy came to be known for person in charge of Syngenta Connection 2013 . Thank to her, the project was possible. She's so friendly, her face full of smile, although she thought a lot about us. If you saw the person with the green daypack in our pictures, it supposed to be Cindy.
Jonathan Parry aka Jhony
It is hard to think about Jhony without attempting his British accent. I feel like met British actor *scream*. He is a colleague of Cindy. I will never be able to forget his expression when we talked about animals we can eat. Maybe, he 's typical of quiet people but when he met Almira and played Icon Pop, he's definitely not quiet people.
Mui Lai
She was definitely the mom of the group. She is very sincere, very kind and considerate to others. She cares a lot about us. She can read Bahasa very well, she can even sing Bengawan Solo on the stage.
Davina Chung
Who can forget a Chinese superstar? She was constantly making us laugh with her sense of humor and definitely has a future in stand up comedy. At first, she wasn't look so friendly, but after several chat, she was the first to start the conversation and asking about anything else or partner maybe. She is definitely friendly.
Alice Qiu
I think all the crew of Syngenta East Java and the farmers are the fans of Alice. She is Syngenta sweetheart. She has a good posture that made women jealous. Ainun's brother had his heart broken when he knew that Alice couldn't stay until the last day.
Australian Student
Nicola Walsh
I vote Nicola for her natural maturity during the program. When you met her, she was the type of quiet girl. In the end, she was the most outstanding people you ever known. She is funny, playful, and gorgeous. She loves panda. She's the one who can hit Royan. She made us dance macarena in karaoke room.
Catherine Power
She is so friendly. She loved to perform social interactions and often exhibit happy reactions. She knew a little bit Bahasa and pronounce it well. She loved playing with the kids. I'm so comfortable to talk with her, she is really nice. I learned some Australia slang and games from her, so funny. ***is (say it out loud).
Jonathan Sharkey aka Jono
At the beginning, he is so serious, mysterious and didn't talk a lot. Day by day, booyah. He is so playful, full of curiosity, and narcissistic (I'll try to change with the vain, but erg.erg.erg). He is the REAL SUPERSTAR from this group. Wherever he went, people wanted to take picture with him. He liked to try and do anything. He could eat everything that you gave to him. He's known for his 5 seconds memory. Oh yeah, he couldn't sit properly on the floor. He is a good friend.
INDONESIAN STUDENT
Maulida Kusumaningsari aka Molly
I want to give her a tons of thank you, without her, I couldn't join this program. Molly is small, tiny, and fun size friend. She is my room mate and partner in crime. She is a mixed of pure Javanese with a splash of liberal principles. She is good muslim who couldn't wake up for morning prayer. Seriously, the sound of mosque was loud and clear, but she couldn't wake up. She always sat in the front row. She could be polite, but she would be out of control if heard dangdut song. I love you, Molly.
Royan Nevi
Royan is comical and forgetful. He is a good Muslim who always text his God why he couldn't pray. If you were on the same bus with him, you would know he was talkative. Sometimes, he mistranslate Bahasa to English. If he was missing, you could find him, sit in the corner and on the phoned with her beautiful fiancee.
Almira
She is the youngest one. The first time, I met her, she was overacting but she's nice (tengil, maksudnya Al). She dressed nicely, I think she wasn't an agriculture student, and she wasn't. Time goes by, Almira is Almira, she brought so much joy in this group, she's so vivacious, funny, and can't stop laughing. But, she's so fragile. I love her so much, I can work well with her in every single way she thought. She's my favourite. Every single words that she said were funny words, like crot..crot..crot or shaking. She helped me a lot, I couldn't forget something that we did . (actually I did)
Fauzat
Fauzat was my team mate. One of the "hijab"ers. She looked so calm and silent. But don't judge her by cover. She was humorous, has a lot ideas, and could do stupid things. She has a pretty voice and can sing We Found Love by Rihanna very well.
Silla
Silla is the local. One of the "hijab"ers. She's so active, loud, and hilarious. She is such mood maker.
Henny
Henny is one of the hijab.
Ita
Ita, the last from hijabers. She's from Pasuruan, one of the local. She is pretty, kind, and spoiled. She is a good Muslim. She couldn't stop smiling when someone around her. (We know who the someone is, it's an open secret)
Ainun
Ainun, sweetheart from Probolinggo. All the farmers know her, she is popular. She is beautiful, active, and giggly. She could speak in Madura very well, she helped us a lot. Thank to her, we could eat best chicken and delicious Urap, maybe it was the best dinner ever in Probolinggo.
Ru'yat
A young boy from Karawang. I like him so much, he was my favorite member. He is a good Muslim who never skip the 5 times prayer. He's so innocent, but he would really enthusiastic when we talked about something "beep".He never angry if I bully or tease him. Maybe, because I'm older. He's so nice, polite, and gentle. (But, he was crying when we have to say goodbye)
Daddy Azis
He deserves a tons of thanks. He's so nice, funny, act like our daddy, and comical. He was trying hard to speak in English. He helped us out on many occasions, made sure the schedule was right, and we didn't do anything too stupid. You would never forget who Mr Azis is.
Mommy Djamal
He also deserves a tons of thanks for putting up with us and our weird antics and conversations He helped us out multiple times with the Madura language and the programs. You could recognize him from far away, because of the way he laughs. I love his style, his act, and his caring.
Mr. Harto and Mr. Nan
Of course, we can't forget our drivers. They're such a lovable uncles.
Sheena Gabriela aka The Writer
Last but not least, there is me (Gabby). Maybe my friends have their opinion. If I would say my English was horrible, love playing with the kids (That one who fell in love with Mr. Chief's youngest son), talkative, act stupid a lot of times, boyish, and childish
Support from the Klampok community and many stakeholders made the Syngenta Connection 2013 program a success and we will always remember the great friends we made in Probolinggo. And of course we won't forget all the Syngenta Crews that ran this program well. No words could express our gratitude for everyone involved in this project.
Lastly, I love you all. I hope this article would be reflection of our memories in Probolinggo. I wish this article won't hurt you, because it just reminder for us, that we have new friends from many areas (Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Surabaya, Bogor, Yogyakarta, Malang, Lamongan, Situbondo, Singapore, Sydney, and Geelong)
