Thankful at Quarter Life

Today, I'm turning twenty-five. I'm reaching my quarter life crisis. Even, I'm afraid to stand on the cusp of a new chapter in my life which I am undeniably adults. But, I had to take a moment to reflect on these 25 years. The moments I have found to be thankful at this point in my life.

The following list consists of the things I have found to be thankful at this point in my life.

1. I am thankful for a family that always calls me home. Thank you for guide me throughout all walks of life and provide with a level of comfort that is hard to come by in any other way, shape or form. Thank you for always be forever, even I couldn't be able to stay around.

2. I am thankful for what I'm convince is the most amazing group of friends in the world, spread out all over the planet (mostly in Indonesia). I am thankful for their patience and understanding of my endless wandering, my weirdness, and the ability to accept me for who I am and what I am willing to give to our friendship. I am thankful for those silly moments, intellectual and also completely stupid conversation. I feel a deep connection with them even when I am physically very far away. It makes feel like I've done something right in my life to deserve these friends I have.

3. I am thankful for teachers who inspired me, nurtured my creativity and challenged me. I'm so thankful there were people out there fighting for my education before I was wise enough to realize how important it was for myself.

4. I am thankful for the kindness from complete strangers that so often makes my day on the road.

5. I am thankful for a guy out there who ruin my heart, so I realize that broken heart really like the end of the world.

6. I am thankful for a body that is capable of bringing me up mountains, under the sea, or just walking around. I am thankful to find a natural enjoyment in physical activity.

7. I am thankful for my sense of taste, which lets me savour delicious avocado, endless flavours of ice cream, and sweetness of chocolates.

8. I am thankful for the memories I've made, lessons I've learned, and people I've met in each of my life.

9. I am thankful for the complicated things have always been, so I realize that I don't know as much about the world as I thought I knew.

10. I am thankful for those text books, movies and songs that leave me lost in thought.

11. I am thankful for the ocean, the sky, and all the beautiful time I've spent living so close to it.

12. I am thankful for sunrises and sunsets, which always remind me that nature is my favourite artist.

13. I am thankful for the confidence to travel alone (I'm here "alone" in Vienna) and enjoy my own company as much as I do.

14. I am thankful for having a roof, real walls, regular meals, clean water, the technology, access to a bank account, and the ability to obtain a passport even it's hard to get the entry permits.

These past years I am convinced that who I am and what I have isn't good enough. I'm getting older, but it seems I understand life less. I'm not realize how much I have to be thankful for.  All I know for sure is that I am currently the happiest and most content I've been in years. I can imagine what 25 will bring. Cheers!
